Expressions of Interest: Re-Source Charitable Trust Board has a vacancy for Board Secretary

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from people who embrace our purpose of re-homing, re-purposing, and re-pairing donated items to the community through our Partner Network to support community wellbeing and reduce landfill waste. 

At the heart of what we do at Re-Source  

Through our established Partner Network we connect donated items directly with community needs. This has the dual purpose of supporting whanau well-being and preventing waste from ending up in landfills.  

We have been operating successfully for over 3 years and now we are entering a new exciting phase with the energy, skills, and future focus needed to deliver on the organisation’s vision.

We are a skills-based volunteer Board seeking committed and passionate Trustees with the capacity to complement and strengthen the current expertise on our Board. 

We welcome people who have a can-do attitude and experience and/or a willingness to learn and challenge others and themselves. We seek effective leadership, innovative thinking, and inclusive behaviours to achieve successful implementation of the organisation’s strategy. 

The Board recognises the importance of diversity and getting the right mix of skills around the table. This is critical for the ongoing sustainability, growth, and success of Re-Source to deliver its service to some of our most at-need communities. 

Board Secretary Vacancy

This position is for a Board Secretary. It is an unpaid role. This is a vital role for the Board as we develop and expand our good governance practices, systems, and processes.

The company secretary is the administrator of the board and ensures that the board functions efficiently and in accordance with relevant legal and other requirements.

If you have experience as a Board Secretary or are highly organised and would like to learn new skills, we are seeking someone who can take responsibility for:

  • The Secretary assists the chair with the organisation of papers, meetings, induction of new directors, and other duties to ensure the smooth running of a Board

  • Ensuring adherence to our Vision, Mission, Charitable Purpose, Values, and Key Board Functions

  • Ensure that appropriate governance guidelines and rules are in place for operational efficiencies 

  • Preferably governance experience in a dynamic and aspirational environment
